I Saw the TV Glow is a 2024 surreal horror film about two teenagers in the 1990s who become obsessed with a supernatural TV show called The Pink Opaque. The film explores themes of identity, with the TV show acting as a distorted mirror for their own repressed feelings and anxieties, particularly those related to the transgender experience and gender identity. The story follows their journeys of self-discovery, friendship, and the struggle to reconcile their true selves with societal expectations.
